Promise

I was digging through some old docs in my computer and found one titled “A Promise to Myself.”  What the heck would that be?  I opened it and was blessed by the words.  I obviously read this somewhere and loved it so much the first time that I copied it and saved it.  But, I didn’t document where I found it.  So, just know that this isn’t mine, but I think it’s worth keeping close, and reading occasionally to remind us of why we’re here and where we’re going.

On another note, I’ve started a second blog called My Adventure into Med.  It’s all about my path to becoming a physician.  I just started a couple weeks ago, with math and science classes at our community college.  Check it out, myadventureintomed.com, and follow my adventure into the medical field!

A Promise to Myself

I promise myself to be so strong in my foundation that nothing can disturb my peace.

To forgive myself my past mistakes and press on towards a greater future.

To speak of health, happiness and prosperity to every one I meet.

To make all of my friends and family aware of the special qualities within them.

To look at the sunny side of things and let my optimism work to make my dreams come true.

To give so much time to the improvement of myself that I have no time left to criticize others.

To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as I am about my own.

To wear a cheerful countenance at all times because a smile radiates warmth and love.

To approach others with love and compassion, knowing everyone’s journey is difficult sometimes.

To think, work for and expect only the best.

To be wise, tolerant and courageous.

To be happy.

  1. Words can be powerful indeed. They pierce through our heart whether we want them through or not. Best that those words be good ones then!
